I’ve had a bad week for computer problems. First, I had to get my laptop looked at because I spilled coffee on it, then a computer at work caught the system check virus.  The system check virus is malware that I got by even just looking at a website. The virus pops up as a fake window that is scanning your computer.

The worst part is that I fell for this virus. Windows puts up an error window that says critical hard disk failure and I know from experience that hard drives can just randomly break so I figured it was a legitimate problem. It even has the windows logo on it, and I clicked scan, which I’m assuming just further infects your computer. The virus then goes as far as to try to sell itself to you. Fortunately at this point I minimized the program to my desktop and looked at the properties to the shortcut and saw a random generated description.  After that I realized I was dealing with a virus and Googled it.

This is the best instructional guide I found to remove the virus but the virus got so deep that Combofix and Malwarebytes couldn’t remove the infection. I’m awaiting further details from a friend regarding the computer.  So everyone just needs to watch out for this program and hope it doesn’t catch you! But if it does then remember this post and follow the instructions.

And as with all viruses, don’t worry about them too much. You can get a  virus anywhere from almost any website the best thing to do is to just have virus scanners and watch out for everything. Anyway, question comment and I’ll talk to you all later. Bookmark rss feed, I love hearing from everyone!
