Today, I’m back and ready to tell everyone about a very interesting article that I’ve read a while back. This is about a physics experiment where scientists have managed to create light from a vacuum of space using only a mirror. Yes, scientists have created light from darkness. Today, we’ll be talking about a very important question. Is this magic?

This experiment was predicted back 40 years ago and has been completed finally. So we have created light from nothing. And we have created artificial life in the form of bacteria.

So we’ve now succeeded in creating life, and have succeeded in created something from nothing. The next question is what comes next? Obviously we begin working on more complex creatures, but for the light. I don’t see if the experiment states what color the light was. So what’s the next progression? Brighter light? Controlling where the light appears?  Or maybe possibly deciding on what color light appears. How would the experiment change if we wanted to created blue light instead of white light? How would we influence the outcome? The light was created by making virtual particles appear therefore supposedly we’d have to only wait and make a select few particles appear. But that would require more precision and accuracy. Would it be worth it? I’m not sure. I can’t think of a use for this technology. At least not yet.

Eventually after being able to select how much light appears and the colors scientists should start being able to create complex images and make pictures appear out of thin air. This would be a good party trick. It might be useful to send secret messages but in general I can’t think of this being useful. But if we can create light from air. Then, what else can we create from air? Can we make am apple from nothing? Or better yet would this allow us to finally have a better and faster mailing system.

I can see it now. You buy a new computer and part of the set up process requires you to specify a place where packages are to be dropped off. Then, later you’re shopping on Amazon and you decide to buy something. You put in your credit card and the very second that the sale is approved the package appears where you set up the delivery system to deliver it to. Instead of having to wait weeks or days to get your package it arrives in a matter of minutes.  The biggest question now is this package appeared out of nowhere. Should it be free? Should we really be paying something for nothing? If you have ever played World of Warcraft you probably won’t think about it and will just keep buying nothing.  The concept of buying is that we’re exchanging money for the value of the item, and the items value is determined by craftsmanship, the material it is made of as well as where it was made and where it was purchased. If a thing is made from thin air then none of that applies anymore. Anyway, thank you all for showing up today. Question comment and refer your friends here. Bookmark me and grab my rss feed.
